The College of Science (CSCI) cares about students’ career prospects and proudly hosted the first Career Talk by the Education Bureau (EDB) for students on 28 November. This event offered students a valuable opportunity to gain practical insights into potential careers in the education field.
The guest speakers, Mr. Leo Lo, EDB’s Senior Curriculum Development Officer (Science), and Ms. Anna Cheng, EDB’s Curriculum Development Officer (Science), shared their career journeys in both primary and secondary education. They outlined the diverse career pathways and opportunities available for science graduates. They also provided valuable advice on career planning, including strategies for transitioning from a science graduate to a role in the education field.
Approximately 30 students, mostly science students, attended the talk, which fostered a lively and engaging atmosphere with students actively participating throughout the discussion, posing thoughtful questions and receiving practical guidance to aid in their career planning. Feedback from participants was positive, with many expressing gratitude for the speakers’ openness and inspiring narratives.
The College of Science extends its sincere appreciation to the representatives of the Education Bureau for their time and effort in making this inaugural event a success.
