Gary said the Student Ambassador Programme taught him a lot about professionalism.  It’s not only about personal grooming and presentation skills, but also our work attitude and the effort he has to put in preparing for every task assigned.

Organised by Career and Leadership Centre, CityU Student Ambassadors (SA) Programme trains a group of outstanding students every year to receive prominent guests at institutional-level university events and to promote CityU to the public.  Elaine Ng, graduated Student Ambassador, believes that her career journey is tremendously enriched by her experience of serving as a Student Ambassador.

Elaine is currently an Executive Officer in the HKSAR Government and has served in different departments in the previous 5 years.  Effective communication skills are very important when she works with different stakeholders including citizens and colleagues from other departments.

She is grateful that her tutor at the Marketing Department recommended her to join the SA Programme.  Her self-confidence and soft skills were greatly improved during the Programme and these attributes enhanced her presentation skills and overall effectiveness at work.

As a Student Ambassador alumna, Gary strongly encourages CityU students to be proactive and enjoy various activities at the university.  Contributing to the University and society would also be beneficial to one’s personal growth and future career.
