Dr William Mong Man-wai (1), Chairman and Senior Managing Director of the Shun Hing Group and dedicated community leader, was conferred with the honorary degree of Doctor of Social Science. The 17th Congregation marked a new chapter in the lives of this year's 6,864 graduates. Upon their shoulders rests the future, and CityU's President Professor H K Chang reminded them in his address, "You cannot plot out your life story and anything is possible," he said. "With hard work and determination you can succeed in anything you do and go anywhere you choose. The future is yours."
CityU has announced that it will be awarding honorary degrees to a community service leader, an environmental scientist, and a renowned scholar at the University's 17th Congregation on 13 November.
