The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is answering the rallying call to internationalize campus with a dynamic range of academic and exchange programmes.
The credit-bearing Mainland Summer School, a new initiative by FHS, placed 51 CityU students on mainland campuses in July and August, providing diversified out-of-classroom learning experiences to broaden students' horizons.
CityU has decided to create a new Department of Asian and International Studies in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Studies with effect from 1 July 2006, and launch a unique programme in East and Southeast Asian studies in September 2006.
A team of five students from the Department of Public and Social Administration outperformed other universities to clinch the championship prize of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Student Day 2005, on 12 March.
Starting from the academic year 2002-03, CityU will introduce scholarships to recognize outstanding freshmen in the humanities and social sciences disciplines who have excelled in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination.
