The Fourth Pacific Rim Conference on Mathematics opened at CityU on 7 December, bringing together an esteemed collection of mathematicians from around the region and marking the tenth anniversary of the University’s Liu Bie Ju Centre for Mathematical Sciences.
Duan Renjun, a mathematics PhD student at CityU, was awarded the Zhong Jiaqing Mathematics Award for his outstanding research into the mathematical theory of the Boltzmann Equation. He is the only recipient from Hong Kong.
