Universities are becoming even more important because of today's knowledge-driven economy and enhanced competition throughout the world, according to Professor Patrick Dowling at CityU's Distinguished Lecture held on 17 February.

Professor Patrick Dowling, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Surrey, UK, will give a talk entitled “The road to a first-class applied research university” on 17 February as part of the Distinguished Lecture Series organized by CityU.
Wang Zhenzi, a PhD student in the School of Creative Media at CityU, took home the national "Top Ten Television Documentaries (Short Film) Award 2004-05" for her documentary, a single episode titled "All about the Teacher".
"I dreamed of studying abroad since I was a child," said Nicole Choi, final year student in the School of Creative Media. "Not only did I realize my dream, but I have reaffirmed my career goal of being a movie director." Nicole has just returned to campus after completing a four-month exchange programme in Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama (CMU).
