A novel tiny, soft robot with caterpillar-like legs capable of carrying heavy loads and adaptable to adverse environments has been developed by a research team led by CityU.
A research project led by Professor Ron Hui, Chair Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering (EE), has made a major technological breakthrough in developing the world's first two-wired dimmable electronic ballast. The project received a US patent in November 2002.
CASSOS, the Computer-Assisted Simulation System for Orthognathic Surgery, developed by CityU's Department of Computer Science (CS), was awarded a Product Silver Award at the IT Excellence awards 2002 for its advanced and innovative technology on 18 February.
