Twelve students from the Division of Language Studies (LS) received scholarships at the 3rd Korean Scholarship Award Ceremony, 18 May. They will be sponsored to take a four-week intensive Korean Language and Culture Programme at the Kyung Hee University this summer.
A forum stimulating reflection upon the role of universities in secondary education curriculum reforms kicked off CityU’s Teachers Update Course (TUC), 12 May. More than 80 secondary school principals and teachers, and 40 CityU staff members attended to celebrate the event. TUC is a professional development programme CityU offers secondary school principals and teachers to update their knowledge on subject content and pedagogy.
"Whatever you do, do it with your best." By a spirit of perseverance, Mr Kenji Yum Tsz-yin, an electronic engineering graduate this year, clinched the championship in the IEE Hong Kong Young Members Section Paper Contest 2002 with his paper "Novel Sub-harmonically Pumped Mixers Incorporating Spiral Compact Microstrip Resonant Cells for Low Cost Wireless Communications Subsystems". The eight finalists in the contest are all PhD students, except Kenji.
