The CityU College of Science advocates research innovation and technopreneurship. A stream option in Global Research Enrichment and Technopreneurship (GREAT) has been launched since the 2021 cohort, aiming to nurture undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in scientific research or starting business ventures that involve the use of new scientific discoveries and innovative technologies. In recent years, faculty members, researchers, students and alumni of the College have established start-ups, under the Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU) and the University’s flagship programme HK Tech 300, to embark on the journey of entrepreneurship.
In view of the pandemic, IGED is the virtual edition of the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, which is the world’s most important annual event devoted exclusively to inventions. Nearly 800 inventions from 25 countries and regions were showcased.
