User Guide on Setting Up CityU Authenticator as an MFA method

  1. Download and install "CityU Mobile" app in your mobile device
  2. Open https://auth.cityu.edu.hk and login

  3. Open the "My CityU Profile" app.

  4. Open "Set up MFA"

  5. Click "Set up" button next to "CityU Authenticator".

  6. Click "Setup"

  7. Open the CityU Mobile app on the mobile device, open the top left-hand menu, tap "Authenticator", tap "Scan QR code" and then scan the QR code showing on the browser.

  8. Type the six-digit code showing on the CityU Authenticator to the computer screen, and click "Verify".

  9. The setup is done. You will see "Enabled" next to "CityU Authenticator".

  10. Next time when you are asked for MFA, you can choose the "CityU Authenticator".
