The 33rd “Politics and Public Administration” course (2025/26), co-organised by CityUHK and the HKUYA, officially commenced earlier. The opening ceremony and the inaugural lectures, attended by senior government officials and University leadership, mark a significant milestone in the joint mission to nurture the next generation of public service leaders in Hong Kong.

Professor the Honourable Michael Ngai, Chairman of the Council of CityUHK, led a high-level delegation to the University of Cambridge in mid-April to engage in in-depth discussions regarding future collaborations and development. The visit aimed to further consolidate the long-standing academic and research partnership between the two institutions and explore ways to deepen research synergy following the success of their joint projects under the InnoHK initiative.

An international research team led by a scholar from CityUHK has broken through the overlooked role of sewers as a source of methane, developing the first-ever globally applicable estimation tool and offering a new perspective on mitigating climate change. Led by Professor Yuan Zhiguo, Chair Professor of the School of Energy and Environment, the research lasted for 20 years.
