An inter-university research team led by Professor Kenneth Leung Mei-yee, Director of State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution at City University of Hong Kong and Chair Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry finds that the prohibition of territory-wide trawling activities in Hong Kong waters for two and a half years has led to substantial increases in the richness of species and the abundance of benthic marine organisms.

Professor Leung will introduce the findings of the study and demonstrate some of the fisheries in Hong Kong waters after trawl ban at the press conference.
