Professor Lu Jian, Dean of the College of Science and Engineering and Chair Professor of Mechanical Engineering at CityU, has been elected a Fellow of the National Academy of Technologies of France.
Dr Peter Staecker, President-Elect of IEEE, was warmly welcomed by the College of Science and Engineering when he visited CityU on 10 January.
The Department of Electronic Engineering of CityU was ranked second worldwide, according to a recent survey conducted by Yuan Ze University in Taiwan.
CityU graduates have swept up most of the prizes in the Best Paper Awards at the 6th IEEE (Hong Kong) Antennas and Propagation/Microwave Theory and Techniques Postgraduate Conference.
Double congratulations are due to Dr Kenji Yum. Not only will he graduate from CityU this week with a PhD in Electronic Engineering, he has also been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in the 2005 Hong Kong Young Scientist Awards.
