A smart thermostat for central air-conditioning systems that can save more than 10% on power and improve indoor comfort levels has been developed and launched onto the market by a team at City University of Hong Kong (CityU).
Three students at CityU have achieved first and second prizes in the Postgraduate section and the third prize in the Undergraduate section of the IEEE Hong Kong Section Student Paper Contest held in 2004.
Professor Li Ping of the Department of Electronic Engineering has been made a Croucher Senior Research Fellow for his distinguished research achievements in mobile communication systems.
