CityU stands with universities such as Cornell, St Mary’s University of Minnesota, the University of Southern Queensland, (Australia), Mount Allison University (Canada) and the University of Surrey (UK) that value “whole person development" (WPD), and is proud to be one of the very first in Hong Kong to do so. Student residents respond to the University's call for donations. In early April 2004, students launched a hostel-wide fundraising campaign to rally support for the cause.
CityU students joined their counterparts at Zhejiang University to present a cultural performance on 18 April at the Wei Hing Theatre, bringing the concept of student exchange to new heights.
CityU's top students were awarded scholarships, prizes and donations for their outstanding performance in academics, sports, arts and community services, at a presentation ceremony held at Wei Hing Theatre on 20 March.
More than 300 audience and performers danced to the rhythm of the Latin American beat at the University Circle, as the World City Cultural Night extravaganza drew to its finale. Held on 9 March in the Wei Hing Theatre, the extravaganza brought into the limelight an array of multi-cultural performances such as Scottish bagpipes, Australian songs, Indian dance, American jazz, Chinese music, English folkdance, Latin salsa and African drums, all under the theme of "Love and Harmony".
