2. Rules and Regulations
The University has rules and regulations governing academic matters, tuition fees, enrolment and related issues that students must observe. Visit our website to read the rules and regulations in detail.
Non-local students should ensure that their visas/entry permits, relevant travel documents, and endorsements remain valid until their expected graduation date. If non-local students fail to graduate before the visas/entry permits expire, they should apply for an extension of stay to the Immigration Department prior to the expiry of the limit of stay. Please visit cityu.edu.hk/sgs/student/masters/nonlocal for details.
Full-time student visa holders must observe the minimum study load for full-time students in accordance with the academic regulations available at cityu.edu.hk/sgs/student/masters/regulations/acadreg.
3. Academic Honesty
Academic honesty is central to the conduct of all academic work. To enhance students’ understanding of academic honesty, all new students admitted in Semester B 2025/26 are required to complete the online tutorial and quiz, and submit the declaration on or before 30 April 2026 in order to access their grade results online. Please visit cityu.edu.hk/ah and complete the online declaration as soon as possible.
4. Anti-Deception and Prevention of Sexual Harassment
CityUHK requires all new students to complete the Anti-Deception Quiz and Sexual Harassment Online Training to foster a safe campus environment. Details will be sent after enrolment and must be completed by 28 February 2026. Incompletion will result in suspension of digital services.
The Anti-Deception Quiz, requiring 100% accuracy, increases awareness of scams. Visit the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre for more information. The Sexual Harassment Training, aligned with the University's zero-tolerance policy, enhances understanding and response to sexual harassment. More details are available on the CASH website.
5. Course Registration
Classes will start on Monday, 12 January 2026. Some courses may be pre-registered for you. You may check the Master Class Schedule and your Personal Class Schedule in AIMS. 8. Maximum Period of Study
Students shall complete all programme requirements within the stipulated maximum period of study, inclusive of programme transfer and any periods of leave of absence and suspension of studies. You may find the normal and maximum study period of individual master's programmes at cityu.edu.hk/sgs/student/masters/regulations/maxstudyperiod. Students who cannot complete all programme requirements for graduation within the maximum study period will be required to discontinue their studies.
9. Graduation
The graduation date of individual students is determined by students’ own study progress. Students who complete their graduation requirements in a specific semester/term will have the corresponding graduation date of that semester/term. The graduation dates for each semester/term are pre-approved by the Senate. Students graduating in the same semester/term will have the same graduation date shown on their award certificates. The three graduation dates in an academic year fall in February, June and October. Details of the graduation dates are available at cityu.edu.hk/sgs/student/masters/info-graduates/awardcert.
Students should plan their studies ahead to fulfil their graduation requirements in their preferred semester/term. After fulfilling all their graduation requirements, students will not be allowed to defer their graduation to a later semester/term.
Students with Special Educational Needs
Students with special educational needs are advised to inform the University so that where possible, appropriate assistance can be provided. Please complete the “Special Educational Needs Declaration”, which will be available in AIMS [Student Record > My Applications (for Undergraduate and Master’s Programmes) > Special Educational Needs Declaration] from 29 December 2025 to 24 January 2026.
