A delegation of 25 members from The Hong Kong Real Property Federation (HKRPF) led by Mr Anthony Chan, President of HKRPF and Mr Chan Ka-kui, Honorary Advisor, visited CityUHK on 4 May 2016.

Academic 2 has been named as "Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin Academic Building" in appreciation of the support and generous donations of Dr Li Dak-sum and his wife Ms Yip Yio-chin. A naming luncheon was held on 28 April 2016 and attended by Dr Li with his family and friends, Mr Herman Hu Shao-ming, Council Chairman, Professor Way Kuo, President and other Vice-Presidents.

Classroom P4-701 in Academic 1 has been named "Ariel Wang Classroom" in appreciation of Ms Ariel Wang Yiqiao's support and generous donation to CityUHK. The naming ceremony was officiated by Ms Wang and her husband, Mr Jason Jin Jianlin, Professor Way Kuo, President and Professor Matthew Lee Kwok-on, Vice-President (Development and External Relations).

A donation worth HK$3.6 million from China Resources (Holdings) Co. Ltd has been used to set up a scholarship to support ethnic minority students from mainland China who wish to study at CityUHK. A ceremony was held on 1 February 2016 to celebrate the creation of the China Resources Ethnic Minorities Scholarship.
