Lecture Theatre 1503 in the Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin Academic Building at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) has been named “Yue Hwa Lecture Theatre” in appreciation of the generous donations to the University made by Dr Yu Kwok-chun and Yue Hwa Chinese Products Emporium Limited (Yue Hwa).

Members of the CityUHK Foundation and friends of the University were thanked at the CityUHK Foundation Annual Dinner on 23 November for their contributions over the years and for raising funds to support University and student developments. The dinner, held under the theme “Dream, Navigate, Accomplish (DNA)”, attracted more than 500 guests who helped raise over HK$12 million, a record for CityUHK Foundation.

A $500-million donation from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust to CityUHK will be used to build a top-notch facility for One Health in Hong Kong. It is the largest single donation received by the University in its 33-year history.

“The multi-purpose theatre 3505 at the Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin Academic Building at CityUHK has been named “Joseph Lee Hall” in appreciation of the support and generous donations to the University made by Dr Joseph Lee Chung-tak, President of Wofoo Social Enterprises and Chairman of Wofoo Plastics and Chemicals Group.”
