1. I cannot open the CityUHK VDS website. What should I do?
A. Make sure you are connected to the CityUHK VPN before opening the VDS website. Refer to Step 1 in the VDS Setup Guide.
2. The VDS website keeps asking me to download the VDI Client. What should I check?
A. First, make sure the VDI Client is installed. If it is already installed, make sure the Chrome or Edge browser allow the VDS website to access apps and services on the device. Refer to Step 4 & 5 in the VDS Setup Guide.
3. Can I use the VDI Client directly to access VDS?
A. Yes. You can use the VDI Client
to connect directly to the VDS service. Make sure you choose ad.cityu.edu.hk in the domain box.

5. How long can I use a VDS session?
A. VDS session is available for up to 4 hours. Save your work regularly before the session ends.
6. What applications are available on the virtual desktop?
A. Refer to the CityUHK software list for the latest application availability.
7. Can I retrieve files saved on the virtual desktop after the session is closed?
A. No. The virtual desktop may be refreshed to its initial state after the session ends, and files saved locally on the virtual desktop may be removed. Save important files to approved cloud storage, removable storage, or another secure location before logging off.

9. Can I use a keyboard and mouse with my tablet when using VDS?
A. Yes. You can use a keyboard and mouse with a tablet through USB or Bluetooth, provided that your tablet supports the connection method and the accessories are compatible with your device.
