MathWorks Total Academic Headcount (TAH) License

The University has subscribed to the MathWorks Total Academic Headcount (TAH) license for MATLAB, Simulink, and add-on products. The TAH license allows installation of these products on University-owned or personally-owned computers for teaching, research, and learning. The license is valid until 31 October 2021 with details as follows:

  • The full suite includes MATLAB, Simulink, and 88 toolboxes.
  • The license includes access to MATLAB Academy Online Training Suite (MAOTS) TAH. This includes over 60 hours of online training courses for different levels and across different subject categories.
  • The license allows access to MATLAB from a web browser using MATLAB Online.
  • The campus-wide license options are for academic use.

Individual License for Personally-owned Computers

The TAH license allows faculty, staff, and students to install MATLAB software on their personally-owned computers and laptops. Below are the steps for getting the installer and activating the individual license:

  1. Sign in to your MathWorks Account at https://mathworks.com/login that is associated with University email address. If you don’t have an account, create one using your University email address.
  2. Download the installer from MathWorks website.
  3. Run the installer.
  4. In the installer, select Log in with a MathWorks Account and follow the online instructions.
  5. When prompted to do so, select the Academic – Total Headcount license labeled Individual.
  6. Select the products to download and install.
  7. After downloading and installing your products, keep the Activate MATLAB checkbox selected and click Next.
  8. When asked to provide a user name, verify that the displayed user name is correct. Continue with the process until activation is complete.

MATLAB Academy Online Training Suite (MAOTS) TAH

All users who are associated to the TAH license are automatically enrolled in all available online training courses of MATLAB Academy. This includes over 60 hours of online training courses for different levels and across different subject categories.

To access training, users should:

  1. Visit http://matlabacademy.mathworks.com
  2. Log in using MathWorks account created with University email address
