Check-In Procedures

Welcome to Lee Shau Kee Student Residence Village (Ma On Shan (MOS) Compound), City University of Hong Kong. Please read and pay attention to the following at each section and take action as deemed appropriate.

Undergraduate Students Residential Year 2025/26 (Semester A)

Mass Check-in Details


Date: 25 – 31 August 2025 After 31 August 2025
Time/ Location: 09:00 – 19:00
• Multi-function Room A
For office hours:
(Monday – Friday: 09:00 – 13:00 & 14:00 – 17:30)
• Student Residence Office (SRO) Reception
For non-office hours:
• 24-hour Security Office
** Car Access for drop-off luggage:
If you take taxi / private car to MOS Compound, please advise the driver to
  • reach MOS Compound at 2 Choi Sha Street, Ma On Shan
  • leave the MOS Compound after dropping off the luggage at a place as instructed by the security guard. NO car parking allowed in the MOS Compound.

Pre Check-in & Check-in Procedure

The official check-in date starts from 09:00 on 25 August 2025. Students are required to complete the check-in in person by 8 September 2025. For those who fail to complete the check-in procedure, their bed-places may be forfeited by SRO. Early check-in request will not be entertained.

Step 1 Login the MOS Portal for Pre Check-in NOW

All prospective residents MUST complete the Pre Check-in procedure to obtain the “Check-in PassCode” for completing check-in at MOS Compound for 2025/26 residential year.

Login the MOS Portal to complete the Pre Check-in procedure before check-in.
In the system, you are required to
  1. Acknowledge the Personal Information Collection Statement
  2. Acknowledge the Anti-Scam Messages
  3. Complete the CASH (Committee Against Sexual Harassment) online tutorial
  4. Fill in the Student Health Statement
  5. Acknowledge the Student Residence Undertaking

Step 2 Obtain the “Check-in PassCode” on your check-in date

On the day of your check-in at the MOS Compound (e.g. 25 August 2025), login the same system to obtain the “Check-in PassCode”.

ALERT:
Check-in without “Check-in Pass Code”
will NOT be processed


Step 3 Arrive at MOS Compound

Gaining Access into the MOS Compound
Present your “Check-in PassCode” for gaining access at the Main Gate at Choi Sha Street.

Step 4 Go to Multi-function Room A or SRO Reception or 24-hour Security Office

Check-in in person
  1. present your “Check-in PassCode” and CityUHK Student ID card or Passport
  2. collect your keycard (use for door opening)
Note:
  • use your CityUHK Student ID card for gaining access into MOS Compound and hall
  • for those WIHTOUT Student ID card (SID), keep/use your “Check-in PassCode” for gaining access into MOS Compound/hall (but not the campus) for 7-day till your collection of the SID

Step 5 Go to your room

Hall, your home sweet home
  1. at Hall Lobby, beep your Student ID card or scan your “Check-in PassCode” to get through the turnstiles
  2. beep your keycard to open the room assigned
  3. occupy the correct side of the room as indicated on the MOS Portal (matching the bed/table marked)
  4. conduct a quick room inventory checking and report defects or irregularities (e.g. pest, hygiene) if any on the MOS Portal right away (belated report beyond 1 week may make you liable for the defect rectification cost)
  5. if you wish to do an extra cleaning to the room on your own, you can borrow on-loan cleaning utensils free of charge from the guard at lobby
  6. visit the User Guides for the guideline on using air-conditioner, washing machine, and network connection
  7. keep the unoccupied bed /provision intact and get prepared for your roommate’s check-in at any time throughout the residential period without prior notice. Illegal occupancy will lead to disciplinary action including penalty charges.

Check-in Reminders

  1. Luggage preparation:
    You can bring/ purchase
    - daily necessities (e.g. towel, shampoo etc.) at the shopping mall at Double Cove (within 10-minute walking distance)
    - Single-bed bedding/linen at IKEA in town
  1. Get an Octopus Card in advance
    - purchase an e-valued Octopus Card at the airport or MTR Customer Service Centers upon arrival Hong Kong, for activating the air-conditioning in your room or laundry machines in the hall.
  1. 9-day Weather Forecast for Hong Kong
    - check and prepare raincoat/umbrella for any adverse weather
