Students and parents experience CityU’s professional education at Information Day

More than 30,000 students and parents explored the professional education opportunities on offer at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) during Information Day held under the theme “Professional, Creative, For the World”.

A series of exhibition booths, admission talks and workshops were held by the College of Business, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, College of Science and Engineering, School of Creative Media, School of Energy and Environment, School of Law, and School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM).

Professor Way Kuo, CityU President, visited the Information Day events to show his support. He also met and addressed topics raised by the students.

Hong Kong’s first-ever Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) programme will be available at CityU starting from the academic year 2017-2018. Interested students visiting the SVM booth had a taste of authentic veterinary education through the incredible Haptic Cow, a mechanical and computer simulation of a cow’s rear end through which vet students practice pregnancy testing. Also on site was Jerry the dog, which allowed visitors to practise clinical techniques such as inserting a tube into the trachea.
