The College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences, launched in 2014 in collaboration with the prestigious College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University, will be named Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JC College) in appreciation of the generous donation from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust (the Trust). A ceremony to mark this occasion will be held on 20 August at CityU. 

Officiating guests at the ceremony include:

• The Honourable Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBM, GBS, The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
• Dr Simon S O Ip, GBS, CBE, JP, Chairman of The Hong Kong Jockey Club
• Mr Carlson Tong Ka-shing, SBS, JP, Chairman of the University Grants Committee 
• Mr Lester Garson Huang, SBS, JP, Chairman of CityU Council
• Professor Way Kuo, CityU President

The $500-million donation from the Trust— the largest single donation that the University has ever received—will be used to build the Jockey Club One Health Tower, which will house JC College, and to promote CityU’s vision for One Heath.
