CityUHK held a grand opening ceremony on 27 May for the all-new Hu Fa Kuang Sports Centre. The official commissioning of the sports centre marks another milestone in the University's commitment to advancing sports development and whole-person education, providing a state-of-the-art hub that integrates sports training, healthy living and community cohesion for students, faculty and alumni. Representatives from the University management, faculty, staff and students gathered to witness the inauguration of this new campus landmark.

CityUHK launched the “Future City Index 2025”, the world’s first city-level benchmarked report assessing the long-term development capabilities of 100 global cities across education, technology, talents, and finance. Based on an analysis of key indicators, the CityUHK FCI ranks Hong Kong among the world’s top ten “Leading Future Cities”, and identifies its top ten positions in “Talent Hub”, “Connection Hub”, “Resilience”, and “Future-positioning”. These results underscore Hong Kong’s competitiveness and strategic value on the global innovation stage.

A research team led by Professor Forester Wong Yu-ting, Assistant Professor in the Department of Accountancy at CityUHK, pioneered a novel approach to detecting “differential communication”. The study, titled “Differential Communication and Local Information Advantage: Revelations from Translation Differences”, was recently published in The Accounting Review, a top-tier journal in the field of accounting.
