This represents a 15% increase from last year, hitting a record high for the third consecutive year. Representatives of two of CityUHK’s partner institutions, Columbia University and CentraleSupélec, Paris-Saclay University (CentraleSupélec), attended the Info Day to introduce the Joint Bachelor’s Degree Programmes to secondary school students and parents. The latest arrangements for the flagship programmes and the new double degree programme in law and artificial intelligence were also a focus of attention, drawing many students and parents to stop by and find out more.

Featuring over 200 activities throughout the day, the Information Day saw a continuous stream of visitors at the exhibitions and talks hosted by various colleges and schools. The Admissions Office hosted JUPAS admission talks to explain the university's latest admission arrangements and program features to students and parents. CityUHK has been named the “Most International University in the World” by Times Higher Education (THE) for three consecutive years (2024, 2025 and 2026). On the day, the campus was bustling with visitors, as CityUHK international students from around the world welcomed guests and introduced overseas exchange opportunities at exhibition booths, giving secondary school students and parents a first-hand experience of the University’s international campus. Mr Curtis Rodgers, Vice Dean of Columbia University’s School of General Studies.

The University continues to expand the Joint Bachelor’s Degree Programme offered with Columbia, one of the Ivy League universities. Mr Curtis Rodgers, Vice Dean of Columbia University’s School of General Studies; and Ms Jessica Sarles, Senior Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships of the same school, visited CityUHK again to introduce the programme to students and parents and share insights into campus life at Columbia. Many students keen on overseas exchange asked questions enthusiastically, learning more from the two representatives about admission requirements, overseas study arrangements and campus resources. The representatives said they were delighted to visit CityUHK again and meet students and parents in Hong Kong, and encouraged students to seize international learning opportunities to broaden their horizons. Students admitted to the programme complete their first two years of study at CityUHK before undertaking their third and fourth years at Columbia University, graduating with bachelor’s degrees from both institutions.

Professor Olivier Gicquel, Executive Director of the Joint Bachelor’s Degree Programme from CentraleSupélec, Paris-Saclay University.

The Joint Bachelor’s Degree Programme offered with CentraleSupélec will be expanded from the 2027/28 academic year, adding programmes of the College of Computing to those of the College of Engineering. Professor Olivier Gicquel, Executive Director of the programme from CentraleSupélec, introduced the programme arrangements to students and parents, and many of them enquired on the spot about studying at the two institutions and the programme details. Professor Gicquel emphasised that the programme combines the strengths of both institutions in relevant disciplines, enabling students to acquire interdisciplinary knowledge and gain overseas learning experience, making them more competitive in a global environment. Students admitted through JUPAS and Gaokao begin their first two years of study at CityUHK, whereas non-JUPAS and non-Gaokao students have the flexibility to start at either CityUHK or CentraleSupélec. Students then move to the partner institution for their third and fourth years and, upon fulfilling the requirements of both curricula, are awarded bachelor’s degrees from both universities.

In addition, the JUPAS Admissions Talk introduced the latest arrangements for the flagship programmes and scholarships, with flagship programme students sharing their learning experiences. The talk received an enthusiastic response, with participants showing particular interest in the overseas exchange opportunities and scholarship arrangements of the flagship programmes. CityUHK offers ten flagship programmes, one from each College or School, developed in close collaboration with leading institutions worldwide. Eligible students admitted through JUPAS receive scholarships covering tuition and accommodation fees, guaranteed hall accommodation and a one-off overseas exchange grant of up to HK$500,000, with the opportunity to visit top global institutions for exchange, including MIT, Imperial College London, Oxford, Harvard, Cambridge, Cornell, the University of Toronto and Columbia.

The new Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Stream: Artificial Intelligence) double degree programme, jointly offered by the School of Law and the Department of Computer Science, will be launched from the 2027/28 academic year to nurture talent with expertise in both law and artificial intelligence to address legal challenges in a technology-driven landscape. Many students and parents were particularly interested in the fact that graduates can gain professional recognition in both fields. Students who complete the designated law core courses and two Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) prerequisite courses will satisfy the requirements of the Standing Committee on Legal Education and Training to apply for admission to the PCLL, while the BSc in Computer Science programme is accredited by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, and its graduates receive reciprocal recognition under the Seoul Accord from the equivalent bodies in multiple countries.

Apart from admission talks, participants also learnt about the University’s research facilities and the programmes of different Colleges and Schools up close through facility tours, demonstrations and exhibitions, and heard first-hand sharing from CityUHK students and alumni. Student performances, sports centre tours and sports team showcases gave participants a taste of the rich and diverse university life and whole-person development beyond academics. Many secondary school students and parents said they left with a wealth of information and a clearer understanding of their future study pathways and subject choices.
