Four social scientists and a cultural historian at CityU have secured HK$1.87 million in research grants from Hong Kong, the UK and Taiwan research funding bodies.
The Chinese Civilisation Centre of CityU is hosting an exhibition, entitled “Arts of the Chinese Brush: Exhibition of Calligraphy by Invited Artists”, showcasing numerous masterpieces from Mr Fong Chi-yung, Mr Ng Ko-shek, Mr Chan Mong-biu and Mr Hui Shuet-ming.
Acclaimed writer Professor Pai Hsien-yung hosted a Distinguished Scholar Lecture, entitled "Chinese Cultural Renaissance: The new aesthetics of Kunqu opera - from The Peony Pavilion (Youth Version) to New Jade Hairpin" on 2 March.
