Once again President Way Kuo of CityU has led a team of around 240 athletes in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon, which was held on 24 October. President Kuo has run the Hong Kong marathon with a CityU delegation for 12 consecutive years, except in 2020 because of Covid-19, exemplifying CityU’s spirit of excellence in both academics and sports.
Distinguished cellist Mr Ray Wang and a group of exciting young musicians performed famed classical masterpieces at “Fly with Rhythms”, the opening concert for the CityU Arts Festival 2021 at CityU on 8 October.
Eric Chen Zixiang, a Year 2 student in the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Engineering Management, was runner-up in the Global Business Ethics Contest 2007/08, thanks to his advanced critical analysis and sophisticated debating skills.
Fourteen CityU students received scholarships from Hang Seng Bank and the Li & Fung Group respectively in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements and leadership.
In keeping with the spirit of the Olympic Games, CityU is to take part in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2009. President Professor Way Kuo will lead the CityU delegation.
