Thirteen students from the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Engineering Management (MEEM) have joined a voluntary project to help elderly homeowners install safety chains that can prevent windows from falling.
CityU is introducing a pioneering double degree programme in construction and law, which creates a unique synergy for both professions and a win-win situation for students and employers. The programme will accept the first intake of 20 students in 2006.

A new, fast-track, graduate-entry Juris Doctor (JD) programme and a restructured four-year Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme for the 2004-05 academic year have been launched. These initiatives answer recommendations raised in a 2001 report on legal education reform in Hong Kong and cater to growing aspirations among non-law graduates to enter the legal profession.
