Grace Lau Mo-sheung, an alumna of CityU, won the Bronze medal for Hong Kong in the Karate Women’s Kata in the Tokyo Olympics today (5 Aug). CityU is arranging a celebration party to welcome her triumphant return and acknowledge her extraordinary achievement.

CityU alumna Ms Grace Lau Mo-sheung, a female karate specialist, will compete in the Karate Women’s Kata in the Tokyo Olympics at 9am (HKT) on 5 Aug (Thursday), vying for a gold medal for Hong Kong. President Way Kuo will join the teachers, students and alumni to watch the live broadcast on the CityU campus and cheer together for Grace.
Warm welcome for non-local students
President Way Kuo of CityU extended the warmest of welcomes to non-local students at the virtual pre-arrival orientation sessions.
The City University booth proved popular with visitors to this year's Education and Careers Expo, held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 20 to 23 February.
City University of Hong Kong's School of Law (SLW) played host to the second WTO ambassador to visit the School this year when Ambassador Dr Toufiq Ali, Bangladesh Permanent Representative to the WTO, called on the School on 12 February. "It's a good experience to visit Hong Kong where I can look at how people have adjusted to the new situation in Hong Kong and China from an economic perspective," said Ambassador Ali, who currently chairs the WTO's Committee on Trade and Development.
