Dear Colleagues: Almost half a year has passed since I last shared with you the progress of our quest for donations. As the end-of-June deadline of the Government Matching Grant Scheme (MGS) is approaching, I have received more enquiries than ever about how much money CityU has raised so far in relation to the Scheme.
To honour a handsome donation to CityU by Dr Tin Ka Ping, the University named Lecture Theatre 1 after the distinguished industrialist and philanthropist today. A plaque engraved with Dr Tin's motto was unveiled at the ceremony. The motto,“To help others, you are helping yourself. To help develop others, you must first develop yourself", lies behind Dr Tin's ongoing support for the University.
In a festive and jubilant mood, more than 250 alumni came home to CityU to mingle with each other, catch up with their professors and mentors and, above all, learn more about the latest developments at their alma mater.
