CityU will confer honorary doctoral degrees on Professor Serge Haroche, Dr Joseph Lee, GBS, OStJ, JP and Professor Wendelin Werner in recognition of their significant contributions to education and the well-being of society.
A number of members of the CityU community have been named in the 2017 Honours List.
The 17th Congregation marked a new chapter in the lives of this year's 6,864 graduates. Upon their shoulders rests the future, and CityU's President Professor H K Chang reminded them in his address, "You cannot plot out your life story and anything is possible," he said. "With hard work and determination you can succeed in anything you do and go anywhere you choose. The future is yours."
CityU Banquet, one of the biggest annual functions held by the Students; Union, took place at the University Circle on 8 November. The event was well received, with a record over-subscription for tickets.
