Ties strengthened between CityU, University of Groningen

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and the University of Groningen in the Netherlands will help foster academic exchanges and further develop the cooperative relationships.
The MOU, signed on 12 December, details a framework for collaboration in terms of student, academic and research personnel exchange; scientific research collaboration; sharing of joint research results; and exploring teaching collaboration.
The MOU was signed by Professor Arthur Ellis, Provost of CityU, and Professor Dr Sibrand Poppema, President of University of Groningen.
Mr Hans Schutte, Director General of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of the Kingdom of the Netherlands; Ms Sabine Amft, Senior Policy Advisor of the Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education; Mr Wilfred Mohr, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Hong Kong and Macao; Professor Roderick Wong Sue-cheun, Vice-President (Development and External Relations) of CityU; Professor Johnny Chan Chung-leung, Dean of the School of Energy and Environment; Dr Mary Pang Yuet-ngor, Associate Dean of the College of Business; and Professor Robert Li Kwok-yiu, Associate Dean of the College of Science and Engineering, witnessed the signing ceremony.
