The Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) at City University of Hong Kong welcomed a group of University of Queensland veterinary students for an intensive study tour on 24-26 November 2025. The three-day program showcased Hong Kong's unique veterinary education, clinical services, and One Health initiatives in a densely populated hub. Participants joined seminars, hands-on workshops, facility tours, and cultural activities for deeper insights into local practices.



The Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) was proud to co host the Hong Kong premiere of the documentary “Silent Pandemic” together with the One Health Hub of the School of Public Health, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). The event, titled “Exploring the One Health Approach to Tackle Antimicrobial Resistance” took place on 24 November 2025 and welcomed close to 80 professionals, academics and students.



On 1 December 2025, the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) proudly hosted the JCC Research Gala 2025. Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event featuring PhD students, this year’s Gala expanded to include postdoctoral researchers, providing a vibrant platform to showcase outstanding research and foster interdisciplinary collaboration across the College. The event highlights our commitment to the goals outlined in the JCC Strategic and Operational Plan 2024-2028, celebrating the dedication, creativity, and scholarly excellence of our students, postdocs and faculty supervisors.


The Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) was pleased to host Professor Jon Huxley, Head of the School of Veterinary Science at Massey University, for a two-day visit on 17 and 18 November 2025. The visit fostered a meaningful exchange on the future of veterinary education and culminated in a well-attended seminar on Massey's innovative, lecture-free curriculum.


The Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) was delighted to welcome a high-level delegation from Cornell University from 10 to 12 November 2025. The long-standing strategic partnership between JCC and Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, which began in 2009, has been instrumental in shaping JCC's development and its world-class veterinary programme since its inception.


On 5 November 2025, the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) at City University of Hong Kong proudly hosted the Annual Conference for JCC Clinical Partners 2025. This signature event brought together over 70 clinical partners, JCC faculty members and staff, and distinguished guests for an evening of connection, appreciation, and professional exchange.


Miss MA Xin, a PhD student at JCC under the supervision of Professor YANG Guan, has been honored with the Outstanding Oral Presentation Award at the 3rd National Graduate Academic Forum in Life Science & Health (GAFinLSH), held at Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, China, from November 7 to 9, 2025. The forum selected 40 oral presentations and 523 posters from thousands of submitted abstracts across China. Among the oral presenters, a select group of outstanding speakers was recognized for their scientific excellence and exceptional presentation performance, with Miss Ma being one of the honorees.


Two JCC PhD students have been awarded Outstanding Graduate Student Paper and Presentation Awards at the 2025 International Symposium on Animal Environment and Welfare (ISAEW 2025), held in Rongchang, Chongqing, China; Oct.20-23, 2025. These awards recognise the scientific quality and presentation excellence of their research, which leverage machine vision and large language models to enhance animal welfare through data-driven monitoring and decision support.
