The Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) at City University of Hong Kong welcomed a group of University of Queensland veterinary students for an intensive study tour on 24-26 November 2025. The three-day program showcased Hong Kong's unique veterinary education, clinical services, and One Health initiatives in a densely populated hub. Participants joined seminars, hands-on workshops, facility tours, and cultural activities for deeper insights into local practices.

They attended seminars on the One Health approach and poultry livestock practices, and practical sessions in the Clinical Skills Laboratory. The tours covered the CityU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, Necropsy Lab, CityU Veterinary Medical Centre, and CityUHK Farm, offering exposure to advanced diagnostics and clinical operations.

The group visited the Hong Kong Jockey Club facilities at Sha Tin Racecourse, including the Equine Hospital and quarantine areas, with a talk on international horse movement. They also explored Beas River facilities, highlighting equine management in Hong Kong.

Students interacted with CityUHK faculty sharing veterinary education and research expertise. A networking evening hosted by the Veterinary Medicine Society connected them with BVM peers over dinner, building international bonds.

The Queensland veterinary students enjoyed their time in Hong Kong, learning about veterinary practices from an Asian perspective.
