Dr Gillian Perkins DVM, DACVIM
Dr Gillian Perkins, Director of Biosecurity, Cornell University Hospital for Animals, has substantial expertise in the area of infection control in a veterinary practice. She is a board certified specialist in Internal Medicine and works as a Senior Lecturer in Large Animal Medicine at Cornell University. Her research and clinical interests include equine infectious diseases, in particular Equine Herpes Virus -1 and Salmonellosis, along with an interest in veterinary public health (with an emphasis on infection control in the Cornell hospital). She is the Leader of the Infection Control Committee of the Cornell University Hospital for Animals. She has given several training sessions to staff, students and veterinarians, on the importance of biosecurity, hygiene and good infection control.
