Event: Press conference on a high-strength Supra–nano Magnesium Alloy developed by CityU research team
Date: 5 April 2017 (Wednesday)
Time: 3:15pm
Venue: Meet at Lift Lobby, 3/F, Lau Ming Wai Academic Building, CityU
A City University of Hong Kong (CityU) research team has recently made a major breakthrough in material research: the successful development of a high-strength supra-nano magnesium alloy. This has the potential of reducing the number of surgeries a patient who needs an implant has to undergo. The research will be published soon in the international acclaimed journal Nature.
This research project is led by Professor Lu Jian, Vice-President (Research and Technology) and Chair Professor of Mechanical Engineering. Professor Lu and his team will present the developing process, the properties and the applications, especially for medical use, at the press conference.
