Date:    9 February 2015 (Monday)

A next-generation compact sensor package developed by Dr Ning Zhi, Assistant Professor in the School of Energy and Environment at City University of Hong Kong, and his team can measure multiple criteria air pollutants simultaneously, and can be readily placed in locations not covered by conventional large monitoring systems and in remote areas to meet diverse monitoring needs.

The sensor package is small, portable and far more suitable to diverse uses than conventional regulatory air-quality monitoring equipment are, which allows it to complement the government’s conventional monitoring instrument, but for only one-twentieth the cost.

Dr Ning will explain the technology and give a practical demonstration of the compact sensor package at the press briefing.
