We would like to invite you to cover the following event:

Event:     Showcasing the wondrous lives of people with Down syndrome – Press conference of the artist behind the photography exhibition “The Purest People”
Date:        6 January 2015 (Tuesday)
Time:        3 pm
Venue:     Room M6050, Level 6, Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre, City University of Hong Kong, 18 Tat Hong Avenue, Kowloon

The public is generally prejudiced about people with Down syndrome. CityU’s School of Creative Media graduate Mr Frank Chan Fung received funding from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, and took a series of photographs of 23 people with Down syndrome entitled “The Purest People”, in hopes of changing the public’s perception.

Through his lens, these 23 models all shine brightly in their own ways, and demonstrate their happy and spirited sides. Mr Chan will hold three exhibitions this year, in January, March and April, in order to promote the public understanding of people with Down syndrome.

Mr Chan will introduce his work in the press conference, and explain the reasons behind the creation of the series. He will also describe the process and feelings, and tell stories about what happened during the photo shoot. In addition, he has invited two of the models to be interviewed with him.
