Twenty senior citizens — average age 80 years old — will talk about art and creativity with the public at the opening ceremony for the “Grandpa Grandma Silver Strand Gala” exhibition at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on 20 September.
 
One of the artists is living with dementia, and the others are at high risk of developing mild cognitive impairments. They will discuss their experience as participants on an art intervention research project titled “The Self-healing Expressive Art Workshop” jointly organised by the Department of Applied Social Sciences at CityU, Art for All, and the Methodist Epworth Neighborhood Elderly Centre (Chai Wan).
 
Dr Lee Tak-yan, Associate Professor and Assistant Head of CityU’s Department of Applied Social Sciences, Dr Anna Hui Na-na, Associate Professor of Department of Applied Social Sciences; Dr Evelyna Liang Yi-wu, Chairperson of Art for All; and Mrs Cheung Chu Mei-li, Centre-in-Charge of the Methodist Epworth Neighborhood Elderly Centre (Chai Wan), will officiate at the opening ceremony.

28 September 2014 (10am to 5pm)
