The Antarctica Exhibition will be opened at a ceremony on 23 May. The exhibition titled “Freeze Frame” will showcase the CityU students’ projects.

A team of students has transformed data that was collected during an art and science research expedition to Antarctica into new media artworks.

The 13 installations, which span the academic spectrum, use emerging technologies such as immersive 3D, robotics and game applications to show the endangered continent from a new perspective. Free from the grip of dry numbers, the students have artistically explored the data they collected, making it more personalised and more influenced by Hong Kong.

The media will have an exclusive preview of the students’ projects before the ceremony.
