The Centre for Chinese and Comparative Law at the School of Law, City University of Hong Kong (CityU) will hold a roundtable to discuss various issues relating to the 2017 Chief Executive Election. Topics include Different Methods of Nomination and Their Feasibility under the Basic Law; Formation of the Nomination Committee and Its Nomination Procedure; Voting Arrangement; Chief Executive Appointment Procedure; the Chief Executive’s Political Affiliation; among others.
More than 15 speakers have been invited to speak, including:
· Dr Chan Kin-man, Associate Professor in Department of Sociology at Chinese University of Hong Kong and Organiser of the Occupy Central with Love and Peace
· Professor Albert Chen Hung-yee, Chan Professor in Constitutional Law of the Faculty of Law, University of Hong Kong
· Professor Joseph Cheng Yu-shek, Chair Professor of Political Science at CityU and Convenor of the Alliance for True Democracy
· Ms Emily Lau Wai-hing, Chair of the Democratic Party and Legislative Councillor of HKSAR
