How does an innovative technique that automatically estimates the approximate weight and size of an item based on the seller’s descriptions of the item to be sold on eBay work?
These are some of the interesting topics to be introduced in the 2013 edition of the ER International Conference on Conceptual Modeling (ER 2013) hosted by City University of Hong Kong and three other Hong Kong universities from 11 to 13 November.
The ER International Conference on Conceptual Modeling is a leading international forum for presenting and discussing current research and applications in which the major emphasis is on conceptual modeling. Four renowned speakers will give keynote speeches at the conference:

The Peter Chen Award will be presented at the conference on 12 November. The award has been given to one excellent researcher/educator in the conceptual modeling field each year since 2008. The research on computer viruses and the weight and size of the eBay items will be presented on 13 November.
