Event 2: CityU Distinguished Lecture Series:
                Global Economy: Post the Global Financial Crisis

Speaker:  Professor Myron S. Scholes, CityU Honorary Doctor of Letters, Frank E. Buck Professor of Finance, Emeritus, Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences
 
Venue:     Wong Cheung Lo Hiu Yuet Hall, 5/F, Academic 3, CityU
 
 
Dr Yukio Hatoyama and Professor Myron S. Scholes, Honorary Graduates of City University of Hong Kong (CityU), will deliver lectures at CityU on 13 November.
 
Dr Hatoyama will share his views on establishing frameworks for stable economic co-operation and national security across the East Asian region. Professor Scholes will discuss major economic themes from last decade, including WTO for China, and the false growth, asset bubbles and financial crisis in the US. He will discuss whether the global recession is ending or whether the debt-deleveraging overhang from the 2008 crisis will slow growth during this decade.
