Two world-class scientists whose research is attracting global attention in the realm of public health will speak at the International Conference on Translating Omics Science to Clinical Applications (TOSCA 2013) from 13 to 15 August at City University of Hong Kong (CityU).
 
Dr Zoltan Takats from Imperial College London is the inventor of the iKnife, which can, literally, sniff out cancerous tumours, and Professor Jeremy Nicholson, Head of the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London, is leading the world-class phenome resource centre, which has been transformed from the anti-doping laboratory at the London 2012 Olympics, that can help revolutionise healthcare.
 
The international field of experts at the conference, including interdisciplinary scholars from CityU, will discuss how advances in imaging, proteomics, metabolic phenotyping and healthcare can be translated into improvements in patient treatment and population health management.
 
Guests officiating at the opening ceremony will be Professor Way Kuo, President of CityU, and Professor Istvan Horvath, Head of the Department of Biology and Chemistry at CityU.
