Science and Engineering Student Project Exhibition (media tour)

We would like to invite you to cover the following event:

Event:      Science and Engineering Student Project Exhibition (media tour)
Date:         6 June 2013 (Thursday)
Time:         3:30 pm
Venue:      James Liu Multi-purpose Rooms A, B & C, 4/F Amenities Building, CityU

Have you ever been lost inside a building and could not find the nearest toilet? Do you need a device to help invalided patients recover more quickly? Do you worry that an elderly relative might fall over when home alone?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, check out the Student Project Exhibition organised by the College of Science and Engineering at City University of Hong Kong (CityU). On display will be 90 innovative projects including a “Wi-Fi-based Indoor Positioning System for Smartphones” which can tell you where you are and how to get to your destination inside a building; a “Power-Assisted Gait Trainer” which can facilitate the recovery of people undertaking physical therapy for lower limb injuries; and a “Fall Detector System” that sends out emergency messages automatically if a senior citizen experiences a fall when they are at home by themselves.

Come join us and discover smart solutions developed by CityU students for solving everyday problems. The students will be on hand at the event to explain the concepts and the unique features behind their projects, including live demonstrations.
