City University of Hong Kong (CityU) will name Lecture Theatre 11 after Dr John Chan Chun-tung, Chairman of Chifa Holdings, at a ceremony on 12 October in appreciation of Dr Chan’s significant contributions to society and support for the University’s long-term development.
The officiating guests at the ceremony will be Dr John Chan, The Hon Leung Chun-ying, Council Chairman of CityU, and Professor Way Kuo, President of CityU.
Dr Chan is a successful entrepreneur. He was awarded the Young Industrialist Award of Hong Kong and was elected as one of the Top Ten Talented Founders of Business in China. He also received CityU’s first Distinguished Alumni Award in 2009.
