There will be a Book Launching Ceremony for Back to Faith: The Practice of Faith in Social Work and a Sharing Forum entitled “How to Practise Faith in Social Welfare Sector?” on 2 October at CityU. The event will be organised by the Department of Applied Social Studies and CityU Press.
The aim of the launch and the forum is to enhance public awareness about “faith” in the social work sector. Social workers are playing a greater role in society today than in the past because the problems faced are becoming increasingly more complicated. Subsequently, frontline workers need to develop and practise their faith by integrating their professional values with individual ones.
The launch will reveal the content and unique features of the new book, which was written by social workers who graduated from CityU. At the sharing session, social service clients, veteran social workers and academics will discuss their views on practising faith in the social work sector.
