The Southeast Asia Research Centre of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is organising a timely examination of contemporary political institutions in China, Hong Kong, Macau, North Korea and Vietnam at an international conference on “Authoritarianism in East Asia” from 29 June to 1 July.

More than 30 prominent academics and political scientists from around the world will share their latest research, provoking in-depth discussion on similarities and variation within authoritarian regimes located in the East Asia region.
