City Literary Festival 2010 – Opening Ceremony

We would like to invite you to the following event:

The annual City Literary Festival 2010, organised by the Cultural and Sports Committee, Chinese Civilisation Centre, and Department of Chinese, Translation and Linguistics of City University of Hong Kong (CityU), is scheduled to open this Friday, 23 April.

With the theme “Man and Nature”, the Festival this year encourages young people to express their concerns on environmental protection through writing. CityU has invited renowned authors from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, including Mr Bei Dao, Mr Li Rui, Mr Perry Lam, Professor Xu Zidong, Mr Chang Ta-chuen, Mr Lu Hao, Mr Yang Zhao, Mr Yang Ze, Professor Liu Zaifu, Mr Liu Ke-shiang, Professor Cheng Chou-yu and Ms Chi Zhijian, to address the opening ceremony as guest speakers.

The annual City Literary Festival aims at increasing youngsters’ (local and Macau) interest in writing. A series of activities are scheduled to be held on 23 and 24 April, including the Opening Ceremony, and talks and sharing sessions, all of which are open to the public. CityU welcomes the media’s attendance and coverage.
