Inauguration of the Hong Kong Centre for Maritime and Transportation Law
Inauguration of the Hong Kong Centre for Maritime and Transportation Law
CityU took the lead in setting up the Centre to integrate its strengths in legal studies and research in related fields. Aimed at nurturing maritime and transportation legal professionals, the Centre supports Hong Kong’s continued development as a maritime service centre. CityU initiates education in maritime law and calls for support from different industries. The first undertaking of the Centre is the Asia Pacific discussion forum in maritime law, a first of its kind.
With the support of the Centre, CityU will advocate qualified research and legal education in aviation, maritime and transportation law. It plans to conduct master degree programmes for law students and intensive courses for industry practitioners. In-depth comparative research will be conducted in related fields that meet critical requirements of scholars, the industry, and the practicing bar.
